El papa Francisco sostuvo este martes que la guerra iniciada en Ucrania a fines de febrero con la invasión rusa «afecta la paz y el desarrollo a escala mundial».
La afirmación del Papa se da en medio de alzas generalizadas de los precios de las materias primas en todo el mundo por el conflicto que involucra a dos de los mayores exportadores de alimentos y energía.
En ese marco, para Jorge Bergoglio, «no es casual que la guerra haya vuelto en Europa en el momento en que la generación que la vivió en el siglo pasado está desapareciendo».
Para Francisco, «estas grandes crisis pueden volvernos insensibles al hecho de que hay otras epidemias y otras formas extendidas de violencia que amenazan a la familia humana y a nuestra casa común».
«Frente a todo esto, necesitamos un cambio profundo, una conversión que desmilitarice los corazones, permitiendo que cada uno reconozca en el otro a un hermano», sostuvo el Papa en el escrito dado a conocer por el Vaticano.
De cara a la relación con los adultos mayores, Francisco convocó a una «revolución de la ternura».
«Los invito a anunciar esta Jornada en sus parroquias y comunidades, a ir a visitar a los ancianos que están más solos, en sus casas o en las residencias donde viven. Tratemos que nadie viva este día en soledad», pidió.
